X’mas…what X’mas?
Just a few moments ago I heard fireworks going off in the distance. I thought the neighbours were just playing around again but then I remembered, it was the fireworks from the Carols by Candelight event in my suburb which means X’mas is nearly here. It never even registered in my mind that next Saturday will be X’mas eve. Gah~ we haven’t even bought dad’s gift yet and X’mas is a week away.
Truly I’ll never feel a real Christmas here. Eventhough I’m surrounded by it when I head off to the shops & the city, the atmosphere is just not there. This season is just way too commercialized here. One of these days, I’ll really have to go back home and at least once agian experience a real X’mas. One where I’m surrounded by my close relatives and following those traditional celebrations which I grew up with~
